UMBROWLA is a patent pending innovation aimed at introducing a new paradigm in solution to the universally human problem of sweat dripping in the eyes causing detriment to performance and safety. The problem solving attempts of existing products are either ineffective by insulating instead of cooling and in turn saturating and continuing to drip, or they are uncomfortable to wear while still not performing adequately. By refining the desired function of an efficient perspiration mitigating product to the bare essence of doing nothing more than diverting perspiration out of the path of a wearer's eyes, the UMBROWLA exploits a minimalism in form that simultaneously abolishes a host of troubling aspects related to traditional headbands and redirecting devices by removing the problems altogether. UMBROWLA is a self-adhesive, one-time use product merely comprised of a flexible arch shaped material with a bio-compatible and hypoallergenic adhesive applied to the length of the side with the shorter edge and extending no more than a third of the arches width. It is packaged flat in a paper wrapper with release liners much like a box of adhesive bandages or nasal dilators. Before activity the wearer cleans their forehead (preferably with an alcohol towelette, which could be provided as well in individual foil packets) and then removes the release liners, applying the UMBROWLA arch slightly above their eyebrows in a "conic" configuration that forms an open-topped channel between the substrate and the skin of the wearer. As sweat begins to trickle down into the channel it is obstructed at the cohesion point of the adhesive with the skin and it's downward flow is diverted sideways to the temples where it is discharged and continues running down the wearer's face having bypassed the eyes. UMBROWLA will have market applications related to any activity where people perspire including construction, medical, military, and especially sports like running, cycling, basketball, rock climbing, all racquet sports, etc. |
